Web Browser Compatibility Test

The purpose of these tests is to determine if your web browser is configured to work correctly with eFREIGHT. Each successive test assumes that your web browser has successfully passed the tests before it. Therefore, we recommend that you try the tests in the order they are presented here.

If any of the following tests fail, please let us know by sending an e-mail to webmaster@efreight.com. Please include the name and version number of the web browser you are using, your computer's operating system and the test that failed. The information you provide will help us determine the feasibility of extending eFREIGHT to support your web browser.

Test #1 - Javascript Test

Javascript is an important requirement for eFREIGHT. This test will determine if your web browser supports Javascript and if it is enabled on your computer. Click the button below and a new window should appear with the message "Hello World!".

Solutions: If a new window did not appear when you clicked the button, then your web browser either does not support Javascript or you do not have Javascript enabled. Please check your web browser's user manual for information on its Javascript functionality.

Test #2 - Cookies Test

Cookies are little tidbits of information that are stored on your computer as you browse the web. eFREIGHT requires cookies to be enabled on your web browser.

When you accessed this page, we sent a temporary cookie to your computer. Click the button below and a new window should appear with the message "I Love Cookies!".

Solutions: If a new window did not appear, you may have a popup blocker that is preventing the window from opening. If a new window did open but it did not show the message "I Love Cookies!", then you probably have cookies disabled. Please check your web browser's user manual on how to enable cookies.

Test #3 - Inline Frames Test

Inline frames (or IFRAMES) are supported by most web browsers and it is an essential part of eFREIGHT's interactive web pages. If your web browser supports IFRAMES, you should see a rectangular area below with a blue background.

Solutions: If you do not see a blue area above, then your web browser does not support IFRAMES. Please consider upgrading your web browser.

Test #4 - Advanced Javascript & DOM Test

Now that we have determined that your web browser supports Javascript and it is enabled, we will now test that certain Javascript features are supported by your web browser. In addition, we will test your web browser's DOM support (short for Document Object Model). DOM is a platform and language-neutral interface that allows Javascripts to dynamically access and update the content, structure and style of documents.

A) This test will determine if your web browser can hide and show information as needed. Click on the button below and you should see the message "Hello Again!" in bold appear below the button. Click on the button again and the message should disappear.

B) This test will determine if your web browser can add and remove elements from the web page as needed using a combination of Javascript and DOM. Click the "Add Row" button and a new row should appear at the bottom of the table. Click the "Remove Row" button to remove the last row from the table.

Row 1

Solutions: If any of the tests in this section fails, you may not be able to access certain advanced features of the site, but the site's main functionality should be accessible to you.

Congratulations!

If you have reached this point and have passed all the tests, then your web browser is fully capable of using all the features eFREIGHT has to offer.
